Johnny's fundraising story
Whatever your goal, we’ll be with you every step of the way, offering support, fundraising materials, and a huge amount of encouragement! You can choose to join one of our organised challenge events or come up with your own - just like Johnny Doey did!
Johnny is a passionate animal lover who in 2024, took on a once-in-a-lifetime challenge: a 26-day trek through the Himalayas to summit both Lobuche East and Mera Peak reaching altitudes of up to 6,500 metres, all to raise vital funds for animals. With previous expeditions to Everest Base Camp and Kilimanjaro under his belt, Johnny set his sights even higher this time, pushing his physical and mental limits in support of animal welfare.
His love for animals and belief in the USPCA’s work inspired him to take on this monumental feat, training intensely with high-altitude and cardiovascular workouts to prepare for the demanding conditions. The journey saw him fly into Lukla (one of the world’s most dangerous airports), trek through breathtaking landscapes, sleep in tents at high camp, and climb with ropes and ice hooks, a completely new challenge for him.
Johnny raised a fantastic £2,060 for the USPCA!
