Why foster?

When you foster, you’re playing a key part in helping an animal recover. You’re laying the foundations for them to start a new, better life with their forever family.

You’re not just helping one animal. You’re helping many more as the USPCA Animal Care Team can then take in more animals in need in Northern Ireland.

Is fostering for you?

The volunteer role of a fosterer is a critical one and makes a huge difference to an animal and their chances of finding their forever home.

The role requires patience, time and care. You will be provided with support and training to help you with each animal that you take into foster. Ideally, we are looking for homes that are child free, where the fosterer would be at home a lot. We will however consider all applications as our animals have varying needs.

If you don’t feel quite ready to help provide a temporary foster home for an animal, but you’d still like to help? Why not become a member and you can see more of the work we do to help all animals in Northern Ireland? Many volunteering opportunities are also available with the USPCA from animal care to wildlife rescue.
