About Picante
When this pretty girl found herself in our care, she was very unsure of her environment and had trouble trusting people. She could be a little spicy (hence her name!) and did not enjoy being handled. Picante went into foster with one of our experienced fosterers, Anne. Thanks to Anne’s patience and giving Picante the time and space she needed, she has learnt to trust people and become more confident in herself and her surroundings. However, she can still become nervous and hide when someone or something unfamiliar enters her environment. Her new home should therefore be able to give her the patience, time and space she needs to settle in at her own pace.
Once she is comfortable with someone, Picante loves playing with them. Once she has burned off some energy, she is happy to come over for a cuddle and settle down to watch TV or simply watch the world go by through the window. She can be a little mouthy during play, but is easily redirected onto a toy.
Picante has been introduced to an older child. Although she was initially unsure, she soon became more comfortable and engaged with her once they started playing with Picante and her toys. Picante could potentially live with older children over the age of 10 years, who have experience with cats and understand that she will need time and patience to settle into a new environment. It is unknown how would react around other animals.
