About Toby

Toby is handsome older gentleman who came into our care through our social rehoming scheme. He is now ready to find himself his new home.

At first, Toby can be a little shy and nervous around new people, needing a bit of time and patience to feel safe, but once he gets to know you, his personality really blossoms! He has started to show our animal care team what a lovely, friendly boy he really is, he enjoys company and loves receiving gentle head rubs.

Toby does have an independent streak too. He is happy to have his own space and will let you know when he wants attention. He would suit a quieter home environment with a family who understand and respects his boundaries, allowing him to settle at his own pace. Once settled and with a bit of love and time, we know he will make a great companion.

Due to being long haired, Toby will require regular brushing to help keep his fur in good condition, he does enjoy being brushed, allowing for his daily brushing sessions to be a great way for his new family to help bond with him.

Toby is currently overweight and will need to stay on a structured weight loss plan and diet in his new home.

Toby would be best suited with a family who have experience with cats and will understand that he will need a little time and space to settle into his new home. He could live with children aged 13 years old and over who are sensible around cats and are able to give him his own space when he needs it. He would prefer to be an indoor-only cat.

Toby would prefer to be the only cat in the home however may be able to live with a calm, cat-friendly dog following very gradual introductions in the home.
