About Ellie
Ellie is a beautiful young dog who was admitted into our care as an injured stray who had a longstanding injury to her front right leg. Due to the extent of the injury, our vet team had to amputate this leg. But thankfully after several weeks of rest and lots of TLC, Ellie is recovering well from her leg amputation and is now ready to find herself a new home!
Ellie is a sweet natured girl who is full of love, mischief and has a big personality! Despite what she has been through, she is full of life and does not let anything hold her back. She is a social girl and loves to greet everyone on her walks and enjoys being around people, getting cuddles and plenty of belly rubs!
Ellie enjoys her walks but due to her amputation, her walking ability in terms of duration would be limited, shorter but frequent walks would suit her best initially. As a result of this, Ellie will need plenty of mental stimulation in the home.
Ellie is still very much a puppy and is still learning the basics, so she will require a family who are around for most of the day in order to provide her with continued support with her toilet training and socialisation.
It is unknown how she would react around other animals in the home but may be able to live with another dog of similar personality with gradual introductions at our centre. Due to her lively nature, she would also best suit a home with children over the age of 12 years who are used to more boisterous dogs.
