USPCA Open Day a barking success

The USPCA hosted its open day at the Animal Hospital Carnbane on Saturday 30th September. The 180 year old Animal Welfare Charity was overwhelmed by the support shown from local businesses, vendors and supporters who attended the event. With approx. 500 visitors throughout the day, with the lovely sunshine the USPCA raised vital funds for the charity.

Colleen Tinnelly development manager for the charity stated “This years open day was a huge success and it was amazing to see so many supporters and their animals having so much fun it was also heartwarming to see so many of the animals back at the open day that we have rehomed through the years”

“Thank you to all our amazing volunteers and thank you to our supporters, without you all, we simply could not exist”

“We are so grateful for all the support shown to us, from donations of raffle prizes, bouncy castle, family fun to those who baked goods to sell on the day”

“During the day we had so many activities including hospital tours, family fun, arts and craft, PSNI police dog display, fun dog show, raffle, microchipping clinic and of course introducing people to our resident animals who are looking for new forever homes. It was welcoming to see the whole community come out to support us”

The USPCA receives no government funding and depends on donations from the public. To help the USPCA please log onto for further detail.
