Q. Is it responsible or human to keep a wild animal confined to a cage?
A. NO It is neither responsible nor humane
Meerkats live in colonies, in their habitat they spend much of their time tunnelling and socialising. They are not solitary animals.
Would a breeding colony fit happily into your living room? Thought not.
The fact that it is not illegal to own a Meerkat is not justification for keeping one captive.
