Star
Say hello to Star, formerly known as June!
June, or ‘June-Bug’ – was a nickname fondly coined by a member of our veterinary team who looked after June so well during her time here at the USPCA. June came into the USPCA at the end of February, heavily pregnant and utterly exhausted. At only around seven years of age, we suspect this was one of many pregnancies she had experienced.
When the time came, she was struggling to give birth naturally and so our veterinary team were on hand to carry out a C-Section. It was discovered that June had underlying tumour which caused complications and she unfortunately lost her puppies.
We were absolutely heartbroken for her and tried to ease her recovery process as much as possible. Over a period of 7-8 weeks, June was in foster with one of our vets, and really went from strength to strength during this time. She spent her afternoons lounging in the sun, playing with her foster brother and sister, and snoozing in the kitchen.
Although she has been through a lot, especially this year, we cannot get over her transformation and it has been such a joy to see a little light in her eyes again. We’re so pleased to report that June has since found her loving new home and has really been the star of the show – even so much that she has earned her lovely new name ‘Star’!
