Heron Treated by Veterinary Team

This grey heron was recently brought into us by a member of the public after being found with a fishing tackle around its leg. Our veterinary team treated it for an injury to its leg. Thankfully, the heron responded well to its treatment and was released on Carlingford Lough, close to a long-established heronry.

We ask members of the community to be extra mindful when fishing, to ensure they clear up any equipment when finished as these can be very harmful to our wildlife.
