Hedgehogs Suffer during Summer Heatwave
With scorching temperatures during the months of June and July in Northern Ireland, the USPCA saw a significant increase of suffering Hedgehogs. Many hedgehogs brought to the centre were young who had left the nest and were struggling to stay hydrated and find food during the heatwave. The USPCA provided foster care for infants and medical care to all hedgehogs who were ill. Once the hedgehogs were fit and well, they were released to an open enclosure in Craigavon Co. Armagh.
