Cygnets Rescued and Released
It has been a busy few weeks for our Animal Rescue Team, especially in helping several cygnets who had gotten injured or lost.
A member of the public notified us that a cygnet had flew into the netting at Annagh Football Club in Portadown and injured itself. Once rescued by our Animal Rescue Officer the beautiful cygnet was brought into the USPCA Animal Hospital so its injuries could be assessed and it could recuperate overnight.
Thankfully its injuries were not severe and it could be released shortly after. On the same day this cygnet was to be released, we received a call regarding another cygnet which had went of course at the same football club. Unlike our first rescue, this cygnet was not injured and just needed moved to a more suitable location.
We're pleased to report that both cygnets have been safely released!
