Meet Cosette, a beautiful young Frenchie, who will soon be ready to start looking for her new home!

Cosette has had a rough start in life. Admitted into our care she was in awful condition, covered in mange, a contagious skin disease, that caused horrendous sores and almost all her fur to fall out. 

Over the space of only a few months, Cosette has improved so much. After receiving treatment from our vet team and a lot of TLC from our animal care staff, the mange has started to clear up and her fur is starting to grow back. 

Cosette’s confidence is growing every day, and she really enjoys going out on her daily walks. Cosette would love a home where she can receive all the love and attention she can get, as she really does love being around people!

Ideally, Cosette would love a family who will be patient and give her time as she settles into her new home as she will need to gradually get used to being left alone. Cosette would love for her new owners to be around most the day to help her feel settled and secured. 

Cosette would benefit from consistency and routine in her new home, as she can be initially nervous of new people and new places, so her new owners will need to be patient and help her continue to grow her confidence both in the home and out on walks.

Cosette would love her new family to continue her training at home, as she enjoys taking part in her training sessions here at the centre.

A quiet, more settled home would suit Cosette best, as she will need her own space to settle initially. She could live with older, gentle children who are sensible and used to dogs. It is unknown how she would react to other pets in the home.

Brachycephalic dogs can suffer from additional health problems, so it is strongly recommended that if thinking about adopting Cosette, that research on the breed is carried out beforehand.

Cosette is not just ready to be adopted, but our rehoming team are starting to accept enquiries to ensure that she finds the perfect family that will understand her needs.
