Pet Food Parcels
For over six years, the USPCA has delivered pet food parcels to food banks across Northern Ireland, helping to provide a resource for pet owners in need. The parcels provide pet owners with practical help and peace of mind as we deliver first rate food, bedding, litter and pest control products that have been generously donated to the USPCA by local businesses and the public.
We deliver to 50 food banks throughout Northern Ireland, both independent and through the Trussell Trust.
Over the years, the number of parcels delivered has substantially increased. Over the past 12 months alone we have delivered almost 6000 parcels.
As pet poverty continues to increase, we will continue to grow our relationships with food banks to provide pet food parcels to them. This practical lifeline has helped to keep pets and their owners together. However as more families are struggling, we need to do more to support pet owners with their pet costs. Could you help us?
We need to increase our volunteer network to help with the distribution of food parcels to various locations throughout Northern Ireland. We also need help packing parcels at our centre in Newry. If you are interested in volunteering for either of these roles, please email jmcburney@uspca.co.uk.
If you would like to donate pet food, you can drop off at our centre in Newry or call in to one of our charity stores.
For help with accessing food banks, you can contact Trussell Trust on 0800 915 4604 or visit www.trusselltrust.org.
